At Y.A.S we care a lot about the environment. Though trends come and go, we believe in creating key sustainable fashion items for a timeless wardrobe, punctuated with on-point garments and accessories. But caring about the environment isn’t just about fashion choices. Sustainability is a lifestyle. And although eco-friendly garments may cost a bit more to produce, ultimately the final payoff is well worth the investment. A greener approach to style is not only good for the planet - it will do wonders for your conscience.
Our take on sustainability
Our range of sustainable items includes garments crafted from organic cotton. This material is grown without the use of harmful chemicals found in certain pesticides and fertilizers. It’s also the only cotton standard that is 100% Non-GMO free, which means that it’s entirely free of genetically modified organisms. Aside from the obvious environmental benefits of organically grown cotton, the absence of hazardous chemicals also improves the work environment of local farmers, which means that the health of these agricultural workers is better on average.
We also use recycled polyester, which is a material made from waste items like plastic bottles, used polyester garments and leftover manufacturing fabric. Recycled polyester saves natural resources and reduces textile waste, making it a more sustainable fibre option.
Y.A.S also uses LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres made from sustainable wood and wood pulp. These raw botanical materials are derived from semi-natural forests or from sustainably managed plantations, meaning they’re controlled and regulated in accordance with a stringent wood sourcing policy.
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres are EU Ecolabel-certified – which in layman’s terms means that the manufacturing of LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres has a significantly lower environmental impact by comparison to similar fibres on the market.
